After speaking to a few club members and taking notice how often members run and travel to run the half marathon distance in many different locations (and many times members are traveling to various locations on the same weekend ), a decision was made to reach out to the Runner’s World Half Marathon & Festival being held October 18-20, 2019 in Bethlehem, PA.  After reaching out and contacting race staff, the Runner`s World Half Marathon was generous to offer the Frederick Steeplechasers Running Club a discounted race registration fee. Current club members can contact me for a discount that will save 15% off race registration for any of that weekend’s events!

So, what does this mean: an opportunity to travel outside of the Frederick area (as many members already do ), and run a half marathon with a strong Steeplechaser presence.  Anyway, take a look at the website for additional race information and details.

The event is not a great distance from Frederick, MD but far enough that it will require some travel.  Since I am familiar with the area I took it upon myself to reserve a few hotel rooms depending on interest. As race date approaches further details can be worked out regarding travel, carpooling, eats, etc.

No, I do not have any personal ties to this event.  But rather, thought it would be a great opportunity for half marathon runners of all abilities to travel to an event.  Also, let me know if I can be of any help to you.

There is also the option to sign up to be a part of the FSRC team for the half marathon. For those who choose to run and register, there is an option to include yourself on a team. The team name is “FSRC.”  It does not matter if you are fast, very fast, or even faster than that, EVERYONE can register on  team FSRC. Folks who join the team will also help create a tally of attendees so we can figure out the logistics for the weekend.  Hope you can join us!
