What better way is there to get into the spirit of the Christmas season than participating in the 6th Annual Candy Cane Dash 5K and 1K on Saturday, December 2nd, 2017 at the Talley Rec Center in beautiful Baker Park, Frederick, MD?
Runners, walkers and “skippers” of all ages, genders, and abilities are welcomed at the Candy Cane Dash. From the serious competitor (chip timing) to the Dad who insists on embarrassing the kids by running (or walking) the race dressed as an elf (or Mrs. Claus?), to those who’ve never run or walked in an event before, this is the event for you!
New for 2017: 5K finishers will receive a custom, Christmas ornament style finisher’s medal!
These fun and festive runs benefit Girls on the Run of Frederick County (GOTR) scholarships and program expenses. Girls in the GOTR fall program will be running Candy Cane Dash as their end of program celebration – their spirit and smiles will be infectious!
A relaxed and fun vibe, cool costumes, good music and prizes aplenty(age group, costume, random), plus candy canes for all! That’s why heralding in the Holiday Season with the Candy Cane Dash has become a tradition for many families -shouldn’t yours be another?
