Candy Cane Dash 5K/1K
December 7 @ 8:00 am - 10:30 am
The 2019 Candy Cane Dash 5k/1k is the perfect way for you and the entire family to kick-off your holiday season!
The 2019 running of the Candy Cane Dash will include a couple of twists on the “usual” Baker Park 5K route. Imagine yourself running through the Baker Park covered bridge, and unlike any other Baker Park 5k, you’ll be finishing in all of your glory in front of the bandshell! The course will be USATF certified by race day.
The fun atmosphere of the Candy Cane Dash draws speedsters (3-deep, 10-year age group awards) and meanderers alike. Plenty of costumed participants help everyone get into the Holiday Spirit, but what keeps the cheery masses coming back (and staying on Santa’s “nice” list) are our great elves (volunteers), the amazing energy of 300+ young GOTR program participants-many of whom will be running their first 5k, awesome shirts, and finisher’s medals (5k AND 1k!) that double as Christmas ornaments. That everyone gets a candy cane upon finishing doesn’t hurt either! Have a family of 4-6 that want to run the 5K? Email email@example.com for details on family pricing. (Must be immediate family residing at the same address to qualify.)
The pre-race celebration starts at 0700. 1K starts at 0830. Wheelchair 5K start is at 0855. The 5K run starts at 0900.
