Calendar
This is our free Standard Promotion service. Local race directors can request that we add a calendar entry by following the flow at https://steeplechasers.org/events/community/add. You also might be interested in our Premium Promotion service, which sends information about your race to our distribution list for a nominal fee. You can see Race Services for a description of these services and how to use them.
Communications
We have a contact page with many of our email addresses (https://steeplechasers.org/about/contact-us/). Depending on the question you have please send an email to one of us, or on the contact page click on General Questions or Suggestions to fill out our contact form.
Normally we send email updates to all of our registered members. Sometimes people accidentally unsubscribe from our emails. To make you’re subscribed fill out the form at https://steeplechasers.org/news/subscribe/
First you should make sure you are a current member. Check https://members.loutilities.com/fsrc/members and search for your name. If your membership has expired, head on over to https://steeplechasers.org/membership/join/ and follow the instructions.
Some people are seeing our emails in spam, clutter, etc. See https://blog.hubspot.com/marketing/email-whitelist for suggestions on how to “whitelist” steeplechasers.org so that our emails reach you correctly.
It’s also possible you inadvertently unsubscribed from our mailing lists. If you think that might have happened, you can resubscribe at https://steeplechasers.org/news/subscribe/.
A lot of the club communication is via social media, but don’t despair. You can still join in on the fun and stay in touch with Group Runs and Events by email. Send your request to membership@steeplechasers.org.
If you are a Facebook user, be sure to join the public Frederick Steeplechasers Running Club group for news and announcements. As a member, you are also invited to join our members only FSRC Group Runs group to find groups to run with. We also have a members only FSRC Marketplace for our members to buy, sell, or give away gently used running items. Trail runners might be interested in our members only FSRC Trail Runners group. There is also a Facebook group for each of our training programs — when you register for a program the coaches will send you information about that.

So many reasons! See our Membership Benefits page for details.
Race Services
Our timing team will construct the list of award winners as soon as the last runner finishes. This will be provided to the race director for use in distributing awards. The full set of results is the responsibility of the race director. We will hand over the ordered collection of pull-tags – each one annotated with the runner’s finish time. It is the responsibility of the race director to enter the data into a spreadsheet for publication. We would be happy to publish your results on our website if you send the file to results@steeplechasers.org.
The Race Services page on our website has a lot of good information. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page, under Resources, there is a nice planning document (Race Support Information) with further detail. If you still have questions, send email to raceservices@steeplechasers.org.

We are low-cost and old-school! Timing is performed manually by clocking runners in as they finish on a fancy printing stopwatch. Bib pull-tags are collected as runners finish to confirm the finishing order and sort out any issues or discrepancies.
While there are a number of good vendors out there, for our own races we use RunSignUp for registration and Marathon Printing, Inc. for bibs. We’ve been very happy with both.
We provide affordable finish line/timing, course marking, and promotion services. For more information, see our Race Services page.
Races
Each race has its own set of policies, but generally, we do not allow dogs on our race courses and strollers may be limited to fun runs or a walking pace. Because we incur expenses during the planning stage of our races, we are typically not able to provide deferrals or refunds. However, some of our Signature Races offer insurance.
Guess what? FSRC hates those fees, too, and we pay the processing fee for you. We’re unique that way.
Sponsorships are very important. They allow us to keep our race entry fees as low as possible, while still raising substantial funds for the community. Visit the sponsor page on the website of each race for more information about sponsorships and/or reach out to the race director via the contact form.
Send email to races@steeplechasers.org.
Low-key races are free so that’s a big discount! We do not offer discounts for our Signature Races, but if you plan ahead and watch the FSRC communication channels, the early-bird entry fees are very reasonable.
We’d love to have your help at one of the races we put on! The website of each race has a link for volunteer signup. If you would like to contribute in a more substantial way (promotion, planning, etc.), reach out to the race director.
NOTE: if you came here looking to volunteer for finish line for our client races, see https://steeplechasers.org/faqs/?Display_FAQ=17794.
We have Signature Races and Low-Key Races. The Signature Races are our big-deal races with lots of amenities. The net proceeds of these races are donated to charitable organizations/projects in the Frederick community. Our low-key races are simple (and fun!) events and are free for FSRC members.
Training
Your kids will love our Spires Youth Running program. Please see the registration page for details on age requirements, fees, and the program itself.
Our adult training programs are all free with your club membership. See Training Programs for details on what programs are currently available.
Volunteering
As an all-volunteer club there is always a need for a helping hand! The best way to learn about opportunities is to keep an eye on communications from the club via email and Facebook. When a need comes up, there will be a post. For our more general needs, see our Volunteer Opportunities page. You can also enter your information in our Talent Pool Survey. When there’s an opening that fits you, the volunteer coordinator will be in touch to see if you’re interested. If you’re really ready to dive in, either occasionally or on a more regular basis, you can always email volunteer@steeplechasers.org.
