FRSC_volunteerThe Frederick Steeplechaser Running Club would not exist without volunteers who make everything happen. As an all-volunteer organization, we’re always looking for help! Volunteering with the Steeplechasers is a great way to get involved with the club and the larger running community of Frederick.

Volunteer opportunities range from one-time event support (such as helping at the finish line of local races) all the way up to serving as an officer on the executive board.

Volunteer Activities

Want to get more involved in the local running community while giving back? The club is always looking for support at local races, including finish line support and aid station volunteering at larger events. If you’re interested in volunteering as a pacer or coach for one of our training programs, that’s great too! Learn more about volunteer opportunities at races, training programs, and events.

Committee Positions

If you’re interested in a more long-term commitment to support club operations, consider volunteering for one of the club’s committees. Learn more about each committee and volunteer opportunities.

Executive Officer Positions

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Steeplechasers are governed by an Executive Board. The Executive Board consists of the Officers (president, vice president, treasurer, secretary) and the Board of Directors (past club presidents.) Executive Officers serve two-year terms. Volunteer Recognition

The Steeplechasers recognizes the support of all volunteers each year at the Annual Banquet, with recognition awards given to those who go above and beyond. Learn more about current and past volunteer recognition awards.

To request reimbursement for approved expenses in your role as an FSRC Volunteer:

  • download this FSRC Expense Report Form (updated May 11, 2018) and fill it out (you may need to click “enable editing” after downloading form)
  • scan receipts (one receipt/file) using a scanning app on your smartphone or other scanner
  • email form and receipts to treasurer@steeplechasers.org
