This program has been successful in helping runners of all levels reach their marathon race goals. Join the fun if you are looking to set a new PR this season.
Pace: Varies based on racing goals. We would like to have most paces represented however this will depend on the amount of people that sign up for the program. So please sign up and help spread the word about the training.
Participants must have a base of at least 1 year of regular running (at any speed) with a current comfortable long run of 8-10 miles and at least 15 miles/week. These are the recommended MINIMUM requirements for starting our marathon training program or want to train for your very first marathon.
Winter/Spring, starting December for Spring target race.
Summer/Fall, starting July for Fall target race.

This training program is free for Frederick Steeplechaser Running Club members. If you are not currently a member, you may sign up at Frederick Steeplechasers Membership The membership fee is only $20 and includes a host of benefits!
Training shirt purchase offered occasionally is optional, and is available as part of online registration for the training program.

Tuesday evening runs at Baker Park (Talley Rec Center) Mileage ranges from 6-12 miles
Saturday morning long run – various locations around Frederick County. Mileage ranges from 10-20 miles.
